Particularly old Outstanding size Aesthetic significance This Blakely's Red Gum (Eucalyptus blakelyi) was left standing after clearing for land selection circa 1878. There are many other trees of the same species in area, but none near the size and form of this tree. The Morrison family would have been the earliest selectors in the 'Rats Castle', (area of granite boulders) circa 1869, taking up permanent residence around 1874. The tree is a remnant and ... more |
